First-Year Writing Seminar

Students are required to complete a first-year writing seminar during their first year of study in the School of Hotel Administration. Exceptions are for: (1) those students who scored a “5” on the Advanced Placement examination in English Literature and Composition or English Language and Composition, in which case the seminar is waived, and the 3 units will be credited to the student’s required distributive electives; and (2) transfer students who have completed two prior terms at another school will be waived. Students with one prior term who have had a substantial writing course at their previous college or university may receive transfer credit.
