Hospitality Entrepreneurs Offer Insights to Students

What does it take to be a successful entrepreneur? Are entrepreneurs born or made? Is it important to have an exit strategy when launching a new business?

Hospitality entrepreneurs address these and many other questions through the Conversations with Entrepreneurs Speaker Series, sponsored by the Leland C. and Mary M. Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship. The series is designed to teach students what it takes to turn innovative ideas into thriving hospitality enterprises.

This year’s featured speakers represented many different industry sectors and included Jeff ’91 & Mark ’97 Broadhurst of Eat’n Park Hospitality Group; Katie Brown, founder of the Katie Brown Workshop; Rick Doody ’84, chairman and founder of Bravo Brio Restaurant Group; Jim Farrell, founder and president of f’REAL! Foods; Howard and Danny Glickberg, co-owner and vice president of Fairway Market; Emily Hochberg, founder of Emily Hochberg Luxury Hospitality; Michelle Russo ’87, president of Hotel Asset Value Enhancement; and Eli Zabar, founder of Eli Zabar, Inc.
