BUSINESS MODEL CANVAS

Alexander Osterwalder’s Business Model Canvas (BMC) is fast becoming a staple in all courses relative to new venture creation. BMC is a strategic management and entrepreneurial tool that allows you to describe, design, challenge, invent, and pivot your business model. It is also a tool that can help grow your business, conduct a competitive analysis, and conduct ongoing market evaluation. Neil Tarallo, Pillsbury Institute Faculty Ambassador and senior lecturer at Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, held two facilitation sessions this past semester, one to help students learn the basics, as well as more advanced applications of the Business Model Canvas, and another to help faculty learn more about the pedagogy behind BMC and its implications in entrepreneurship curriculum. Recordings of both sessions can be seen on the Pillsbury YouTube channel.
