As founding principal of YUI&Company, Inc., Ellen Yui helps innovators identify their unique space, tell their story, and curate opportunities for collaboration, dialogue, and growth.

Disrupting the agency model, YUI&Co. launched in 1991 as one of the first virtual PR firms in the US, offering consulting and coaching on strategic communications, branding, and identity to leaders motivated by positive socioeconomic and environmental impact as well as growth. Clients have included Fortune 100s, US presidents, start-ups, universities, municipalities, trade associations, non-profits, artists, authors, and more. Specialists in simplifying complex concepts for a wide range of audiences, the YUI&Co. network of creative professionals offer- identity branding, thought leadership, executive coaching, business strategy, and designing ESG, CSR and integrated marketing communications programs that elevate organizations from anonymity to center stage on the issues and to the people important to them.

Alongside her husband, Jimi, Ellen also serves as a principal in YuiDesign, Inc., one of the nation’s leading commercial kitchen design firms. She also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of The Fund for Education Abroad, an Entrepreneur-in-Residence with the Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship at Cornell University, a nonprofit reviewer for Spur Local’s Catalogue for Philanthropy Greater Washington DC, and frequently as a judge of university business plan competitions. She speaks at industry conferences and universities on communications and entrepreneurialism, has testified before the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations of the Committee on Commerce of the U.S. House of Representatives, and her writings have appeared in multiple publications under her byline and those of her clients.

Prior to launching YUI&Co., Ellen held positions with Edelman, Hill+Knowlton, Edward Aycoth Worldwide, the American Beverage Association, on Capitol Hill, and in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs of the Department of State. She holds a BA in Political Science from Boston College, the Baccalauréat from the Lycée D’État LaMartine in Mâcon, France, and CSR certification through Johns Hopkins University.
