CHR: Restarting the Cruise Industry – Challenges and Opportunities

April 28, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

Event Overview

The cruise industry and destinations that rely on cruise ship visitors have been deeply impacted by the pandemic. Since a No Sail Order was issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in March 2020, cruises from U.S. ports have not resumed. However, with the guidance of top medical and public health experts, the cruise industry has spent the last year reimagining the entire cruise experience based on newly designed health and safety protocols.

Join us for a webinar with the two top cruise industry leaders — who have, in essence, created this industry — and one of the country’s foremost public health experts, discussing both the unique challenges and opportunities as the cruise industry plans to restart its business. We will also be joined by Professor Rob Kwortnik, one of our SHA academic experts for this industry. The panel will be moderated by Dean Kate Walsh.

This online event is brought to you by Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration and the Center for Hospitality Research.
