Prospect Hotel Advisors is the exclusive advisor for hospitality investments to the Blackstone Group, the largest owner of hospitality assets in the world.  Prospect also advises a select group of other private equity companies as well as high net-worth families in the hospitality industry.  Barry has 2 business partners, John Ceriale and Andrew Katz.

Growing up in a hotel family, it was only natural that Barry followed his 2 brothers, Larry and Jerry, into the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell. His father, Henri worked at Hilton for 26 years and his brothers are still in active in the industry.

Barry spent the first 19 years of his hotel career with Hyatt Hotels, starting as a management trainee in 1985. He became General Manager of the Hyatt Palo Alto in 1993 and then moved to other hotels/resorts including the Hyatt Regency Newporter, Hyatt Regency La Jolla, Grand Hyatt Buckhead, Hyatt Regency Maui and then Regional Vice President at O’hare in 2004.

Barry left Hyatt in 2005 to join the Blackstone group, where he had many roles including development of the LXR Luxury Resorts brand, Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations Owned Assets North America for Hilton Worldwide and since 2012, Partner, Prospect Hotel Advisors.

Barry and his wife Jeannie are very proud to have 2 daughters also following in the family footsteps at Cornell.  Brittney is currently a Senior, SHA ’20 and Bridgette a sophomore, SHA ’22 and one daughter, Brianna who is still in high school.
