Dr. Cathy A. Enz is Professor Emeritus of Strategy and Business Economics and the Lewis G. Schaeneman, Jr. Professor Emeritus at the School of Hotel Administration in the SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University. During her 30 years on the faculty at Cornell she has held several administrative roles including Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Associate Dean for Industry Research and Affairs, and Executive Director of the Center for Hospitality Research. Dr. Enz received her Ph.D. from the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University. She was on the faculty of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University prior to her time at Cornell.
Dr. Enz has published over 115 journal articles, book chapters, and five books in the area of strategic management and hospitality, and been the recipient of both outstanding teaching and research awards. In addition to teaching graduate and undergraduate students, she presents in numerous executive programs in Europe, Asia, and Central America.
Dr. Enz is the founder and CEO of Enz & Associates, a firm focused on strategic consultation for over 35 years. She consults extensively in North America and serves on the Board of Directors of two privately owned hospitality companies. She also gives her time to several not-for-profit organizations, serving on the Board of Directors of several enterprises focused on hospitality education and social justice including The Center for Transformative Action. Dr. Enz has held industry positions including strategy development analyst in the office of corporate research for a large financial services firm, and operations manager responsible for customer service and logistics in the dietary food service division of a large U.S. healthcare corporation.
