Dr. Breffni Noone is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management at the School of Hospitality Management at Pennsylvania State University. She received her Ph.D. from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and an M.B.S. from Dublin City University, Ireland. She holds a B.Sc. (Mgmt.) from Dublin University, Trinity College, Ireland, and a H.Dip. in Hotel and Catering Management from Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland.
Prior to joining Pennsylvania State University in August 2005, Dr. Noone was a visiting faculty member at the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University and a faculty member of the Dublin Institute of Technology. She has taught courses in operations management, information technology management and revenue management at both undergraduate and graduate levels. She has been involved in a number of European Union funded initiatives for the development of revenue management training programs for hospitality managers and has provided executive education programs in revenue management. Prior to entering academia, Dr. Noone held various operations and management positions in the hospitality industry in Europe.
Her primary research interest is in the area of revenue management, particularly the effect of revenue management practices on customer satisfaction and service design. She has presented her work at a number of international conferences and her work has appeared in journals such as Journal of Revenue and Pricing Management, Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Administration Quarterly, Journal of Service Management, Managing Service Quality, International Journal of Hospitality Management, and Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research.
