Bill Minnock ’79 retired from Marriott after a 37 year career in which he held numerous leadership positions in the Hotel and Timeshare industries.  Most recently, Bill was Managing Director, Asia Pacific, for Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) from 2014 until 2021, based in Singapore.  In this role, he was responsible for operating and expanding the company’s footprint in the region.  Prior to this role, he worked for Marriott International for and has experience in real estate development, new business development, strategic planning, asset management, finance, architecture and construction and operations.

Bill was Visiting Professor of Practice at the Cornell Nolan School of Hotel Administration in during the 2021-2022 academic year and taught a class in Lodging Strategy and Innovation.  He also served as Entrepreneur in Residence.  During the Spring of 2014, he was Executive in Residence at the Hotel School.

Minnock has been actively involved in the Cornell Hotel Society (“CHS”) and served as President of the Executive Board in 2018, was RVP of the Mid-Atlantic region and chapter President of the Washington DC chapter.  He currently serves as Chairman of the Cornell Hotel Society Foundation, an organization of past Presidents of the CHS.   He has been actively involved with the Nolan School since graduating, including guest lecturing, mentoring students and also served as Executive-in-Residence from January to July 2014.

Minnock attended Cornell University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in hotel administration and an MBA.

Minnock and his wife Debra have five children, four grandchildren and are splitting their time between Naples, FL and Lansing, NY.
