Vinh is a PhD candidate in Hotel Administration, committed to examining the nuances of human resource morality and the employee work experiences, including aspects such as job satisfaction, turnover, diversity, equity, and inclusion within the hospitality industry. His academic endeavors reflect a strong interest in innovative research methodologies and sophisticated analytical techniques. He has achieved significant research milestones, with publications featured in esteemed international and domestic journals and conferences, including the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, the Bouchet Honor Society, the Annual West Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education Conference, the Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences, the University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum in Michigan, the Society for Hospitality and Foodservice Management (SHFM) National Conference, and the Annual Graduate Education & Graduate Student Research Conference in Hospitality and Tourism. Vinh’s collaborative approach significantly enhances his research efforts by offering undergraduate students from diverse academic disciplines at Cornell University opportunities to participate in his projects. This collaboration not only provides these students with valuable practical experience but also enables them to earn academic credits. Additionally, Vinh provides guidance to high school students who are interested in his research, allowing them to observe his work and gain valuable insights. This experience supports their exploration of academic interests and enhances their readiness for future college applications. Among Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH) students, Vinh is highly regarded as the lead teaching assistant for courses such as Human Resource Management, a position he has held for four years, as well as for other MMH and MBA courses. Prior to Cornell University, Vinh graduated with honors from Michigan State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Business. During his time at MSU, he served as the Chief Financial Officer for the MSU Hospitality Association and gained valuable experience in various roles within the hotel industry, including Front Desk Supervisor and Certified Reservation Specialist.
