Biography
Vinh, an ambitious second-year PhD student in Hotel Administration, is wholeheartedly dedicated to delving into the realms of employees’ job satisfaction, turnover, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the hospitality industry. His academic pursuits encompass a keen interest in novel research methods and advanced analytical techniques. In his role, he collaborates with undergraduate research assistants from diverse departments at Cornell, enabling them to acquire practical experience while earning credits toward their graduation. Vinh is widely recognized among Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH) students as their lead teaching assistant for courses such as Human Resource Management and other MMH/MBA courses. Prior to his time at Cornell University, Vinh graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Business. During his tenure at MSU, Vinh undertook the responsibilities of Chief Financial Officer for the MSU Hospitality Association and held various positions within the hotel industry, including Front Desk Supervisor and Certified Reservation Specialist. Vinh’s research achievements have been published in prestigious international and domestic journals and conferences such as the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Bouchet Honor Society, 2019 Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences, 2020 University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum in Michigan, 2021 Society for Hospitality and Foodservice Management (SHFM) National Conference, and the 27th Annual Graduate Education & Graduate Student Research Conference in Hospitality and Tourism.
