CIHLER: Opening the Door in the Hospitality Industry: Legal Challenges in the Wake of COVID-19 - Session 2

COVID-19 has irrevocably altered the way virtually all employers conduct their business, but for the hospitality industry the pandemic has created significant disruption and unavoidable challenges. Please join Jackson Lewis P.C. and The Cornell Center for Innovative Hospitality Labor and Employment Relations (CIHLER) for a roundtable webinar series to discuss critical issues that hospitality businesses must address in the near term and going forward.
- Discussion of preventive employment practices and related employment litigation and class/collective actions due to COVID-19, including but not limited to RIF, WARN, ADA, leave of absence, wage-hour and wage payment, as well as the use of video in mediations and court proceedings.
- OSHA/CDC guidance for employers addressing safety and health issues related to COVID-19 and reopening and cleaning recommendations (including analysis of higher and lower risk jobs, use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, gloves, and face masks, hazard communication related to cleaning products, and OSHA enforcement priorities and guidance for record keeping and reporting of work-related COVID-19 illnesses and fatalities)
- Discussion of the types of grievances, NLRB charges, information requests, and bargaining demands observed over COVID-19-related issues
