This three-day course expands and refines the tool-kit in the online certificate series entitled “Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management”. The course is designed to help owners, operators, and lenders optimize real estate and intellectual property returns from individual assets while recognizing their place in a larger real estate portfolio.
Concrete tools that allow participants to explore scenarios from holding, renovating, expanding or otherwise altering individual assets to maximize value and enhance the contribution that real estate brings to a mixed-asset portfolio. Learn how asset managers use the management contract as an important tool to control the partnership between the owner and manager to optimize value and performance. Extend the sell vs. hold approaches learned in the online certificate to advance strategies available during the holding period. Learn how to manage the risks inherent in lodging properties over the market cycle and how a sustainability mindset can enhance returns and value.
Participants who have completed the six-day course "Advanced Real Estate: Capital Markets, Deal Structuring, Risk Management" should not attend this course due to significant overlap of course material.

The prerequisite for this course is the completion of the online certificate in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management. This certificate series is comprised of six online courses, available at an additional cost. Please allow two weeks per course to complete the certificate series. Online courses are available year-round, with course sessions beginning each month. It is ideal to take one online course at a time. However, it is possible to complete the online series before the start of the classroom course if you enroll in more than one online course simultaneously.
