The School of Hotel Administration established the center in recognition of the increasing importance of real estate, finance, and asset management in the hospitality industry. Evolving from its hospitality real estate foundation, the center now provides research and scholarship for the commercial real estate industry as well as a strong focus in the general area of finance.
For practitioners, the Center for Real Estate and Finance produces a series of online publications critically relevant to the day-to-day operations of the real estate industry. The publications include the groundbreaking Cornell Real Estate Market Indices and a series of real estate and finance reports, tools, and roundtable highlights.
For academics, the Center for Real Estate and Finance is a leading source for research. The real estate and finance faculty publish regularly in top ranked academic journals and serve as editors, associate editors, and reviewers.
For students, the Center for Real Estate and Finance provides experiential-learning opportunities through direct access to industry leaders. Events such as the Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition, student speaker series, and panel discussions, offer students the practical experience and insight with which to build their careers.
