Record Number of Cornell Graduate Students to Receive Real Estate Minor Designation at May Graduation

A re-launch of the Graduate Minor in Real Estate at Cornell during fall semester 2013 will result in as many as 26 students wearing the blue stole indicating they fulfilled the requirements for this Minor. In recent years less than one-half dozen students achieved the same designation. The graduate students minoring in real estate come from three prominent Masters’ degree programs – the SHA Masters’ of Management in Hospitality (12 students), the Masters’ degree programs in the College of Art, Architecture and Planning (9 students), and the Johnson MBA Program (5 students). To earn the Graduate Minor in Real Estate a student must successfully complete three required courses and two electives, one elective course is for real estate enrichment and one elective is a complimentary skills course, for a minimum number of credits equaling 15 hours. The Director of Graduate Studies for the Real Estate Field is Baker Professor of Real Estate Jack Corgel in the School of Hotel Administration.
