Cornell’s Real Estate Club

The Cornell Real Estate Club (CREC) was excited for its second annual fall educational and recruitment trek to New York City on October 11. Twenty members had the opportunity to meet with representatives with Madison International Realty, Empire State Realty Trust, Greystone & Co., and Deutsche Bank.

Juniors and seniors attending the trek received a first-hand view of different aspects of the real estate business. Members get a sense of different company cultures, deal flows, and a typical day in the office. This experience provides the students with insights into the career path they may wish to pursue.

In addition to the fall recruitment trek, CREC is actively planning for four great treks in the spring semester in partnership with the Center for Real Estate and Finance to Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and New York City.

The week of October 3, the club led a deal case study with the REPIA (Real Estate Principal Investment Area) group at Goldman Sachs. In addition, for the first time, CREC will begin an educational series directed toward freshman and sophomores interested in real estate. This will prepare undergrads for upcoming interviews and summer internships.

CREC is looking forward to a full and active year. For alumni interested in hosting an event or becoming involved in the club’s upcoming treks, please reach out to Aaron Friedman (af398@cornell.edu) or Cody Bernstein (jrb462@cornell.edu).
