2015 Starts Strong for Real Estate Alumni

REMAC, Cornell’s young alumni real estate organization, has kicked off 2015 with two excellent events. In the first quarter, REMAC organized its second real estate roundtable and hosted a well-received joint networking event with the Young Commercial Real Estate Group (YCREG).

In mid-January, REMAC hosted its second roundtable event featuring Andy Isikoff, Managing Director of Silverfern Real Estate Partners, a privately owned global investment firm which specializes in originating, structuring and making proprietary private equity and real estate investments. In a small group setting, Mr. Isikoff engaged the members by speaking about his experiences investing in real estate through different business models, including hedge fund, private equity, and family office.

Seeking to further connect REMAC’s Cornell base with the rest of the New York real estate community, REMAC co-hosted a networking event with YCREG in mid-February. Founded in 2013, YCREG is a group of young real estate professionals in New York City from diverse backgrounds with a focus on networking and developing strong business relationship across various facets of the industry. The event brought over 100 young professionals together in a casual professional social setting, and received very positive reviews from both groups’ members.

REMAC is also becoming an increasingly prominent channel for top-tier private equity firms, operating companies, and brokerage houses to advertise jobs through the REMAC network. Prominent companies, such as Aimbridge Hospitality, Jones Lang LaSalle, Yotel, LendingHome, JMI Realty, Thayer Lodging, IHG, and Sunstone Hotel Investors have all posted open positions with our network, and several of these postings have led to successful matches with REMAC members.
