Alumnus Gives $1 Million to Cheri Farrell Scholarship

An anonymous alumnus has made a $1 million gift to enhance the Cheri Farrell Scholarship. The gift was made to honor the influence that Farrell has had on his life and to continue strengthening the financial aid program for noteworthy students.

Farrell worked at the School of Hotel Administration for 33 years and touched the lives of countless Hotelies. She began as a secretary in 1969. Soon after, she became the secretary to Dean Robert A. Beck and continued to take on increasing responsibilities until she was ultimately named the director of student services in 1990. Since retiring from the school in 2005, she has served as an outreach ambassador, providing support for the Office of Alumni Affairs and Development.
