Experiential Learning

We have been providing opportunities for students, alumni, and the greater Cornell community to connect the academic and the practical via experiential learning activities through the Pillsbury Institute. Currently, we are in the process of actively seeking opportunities for the Summer Entrepreneurial Internship Program. Students take tremendous value from having opportunities to apply their lessons from the classroom into an entrepreneurial work environment. Please contact Kristen Ciferri, program manager of the Pillsbury Institute, if you are able to provide a summer opportunity for an entrepreneurial student.

In September, we had a week of engagement during the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities. Twenty veterans who were disabled as a result of their service supporting operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom came to the Pillsbury Institute for experiential training in entrepreneurship under the direction of Neil Tarallo.

The Cornell Hospitality Business Plan Competition, under the direction of Susan Fleming, senior lecturer, began during the fall semester. In March, we will welcome the return of the Cornell Hospitality Business Plan Competition during HEC weekend. For the first time, the competition will be webcast live. The webcast will be available here.
