Practice Makes Perfect is Moving Up and Onward

Karim Abouelnaga ’14 is graduating this May and his entrepreneurial drive and outgoing personality will definitely be missed in the Pillsbury Institute. His time here at SHA and Cornell University has been well spent and the list of accomplishments and awards he has received while at school just keeps growing.

Karim and his team at Practice Makes Perfect have had a very successful spring semester. They were recently accepted into the Points of Light & Village Capital’s Civic Accelerator program and received $10,000 as part of the incubator program. They were honored at the Annual Clinton Global Initiative University Conference in April at which, PMP was selected as one of five nonprofits as an ‘exemplary approach to addressing a specific global challenge’. In addition, PMP placed 3rd in the New York State Business Plan Competition and made it to the semi-finals of several other business plan competitions. Lastly, Karim has won the Class of 1964’s John F. Kennedy Memorial Award and was recently featured in an article in the NY Times, titled ‘Young Peacemakers’.

The Pillsbury Institute and Pillsbury Advisory Board wish Karim and the Practice Makes Perfect team many more years of success and we look forward to reporting more about your accomplishments in the years to come!
