Finding Summer, Part-Time, and Permanent Jobs

Whether you’re searching for a summer, part-time, or permanent position, no single job-search strategy can guarantee success. Implementing multiple job search methods will help you identify the right fit, and we’ve got the resources to help you do that.

Handshake is our online recruiting platform. Log in to view job and internship opportunities, register for events including employer information sessions and workshops, sign up for on-campus interviews, and view lists of companies attending career fairs. To be eligible to participate in on-campus interviews and other career events, students must complete the On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) Tutorial.

When you apply for a position through Handshake or use the On-Campus Recruiting service, you agree to abide by Cornell Career Services’s on-campus recruiting policy. Included within the policy and OCR Tutorial are guidelines regarding interview cancellations, which students must follow to avoid losing access to future recruiting opportunities.

Networking

Networking is vital to any job search. The networking process will allow you to tell people about yourself, enlist their support, and help you gather information about available opportunities.

The Alumni Directory may be of assistance in identifying alumni in a particular region or company that you can contact regarding advice or possible employment opportunities.

Finally, begin developing your own contact list by attending On-Campus Company PresentationsQuestion and Answer Sessions, and Career Day.
