Global Head - Business & Investment Analytics
Dexter Wood joined Hilton Worldwide in April 2009 as Global Head – Business & Investment Analysis. In this role, he oversees the Feasibility & Investment Analysis team operating globally from the company’s offices in Washington, D.C., Memphis, London, and Singapore. This team is responsible for Hilton Worldwide’s investment underwriting and financial analyses relating to acquisitions and dispositions, real estate valuation, management and franchise contract valuation, impact analysis, capital investments, cash flow analysis, and other feasibility-related projects.
Wood also leads a business analytics team focused on economic and industry trend analysis, operational benchmarking, portfolio trend analysis, and other research initiatives that support many areas of the company including development, asset management, corporate strategy, and investor relations.
Before joining Hilton Worldwide, Wood spent more than eight years as senior vice president – feasibility & strategic analysis with Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. Prior to his career at Host, Wood worked for prominent hospitality and real estate consulting firms including PricewaterhouseCoopers and HVS International.
Wood has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. He is a past president of the New York City Chapter of the Cornell Hotel Society, and served on the board of directors of the Hospitality Asset Managers Association (HAMA).
Wood has authored articles for several industry publications, appeared on various news media as an industry analyst, lectured at Cornell University and New York University, and served as an expert witness in several legal proceedings.
Wood and his wife Susan live in northern Virginia with their three children: Madeline, Claudia and Ethan.
