It has been an honor to lead the School of Hotel Administration for the past decade. But as you know, this is my tenth and final academic year as your dean.

I am delighted to let you know that I will become the next provost of Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. This is a tremendous opportunity for me at an institution that shares the unique qualities of SHA, foremost among them a commitment to a student-focused environment. Just as SHA is the best school of its kind in hospitality, Babson College is the best institution of its kind in entrepreneurship education.

My wife Jill and I are thrilled with the opportunity. But we will miss you all and thank you for your support, friendship, and commitment during our time at Cornell. We look forward to continuing our work at the school as we finish the academic year and continue to build the legacy that is the School of Hotel Administration. Babson College will be issuing a press release today and we will be sharing that announcement through our SHA social media channels.

Best wishes,
Michael Johnson
