Air Canada is Canada’s largest airline and carries over 45 million passengers annually. Air Canada’s predecessor, Trans-Canada Air Lines, had its first flight in 1937 and the company has since grown to become one of the 20 largest airlines in the world with 300 aircrafts. Air Canada continues to grow year over year with new destinations added annually and with a planned addition of 37 new aircrafts by 2019. Mr. Mark Nasr has more than 15 years of experience in the travel and hospitality industry spanning three continents. After starting his career in hotel operations at Hilton, Marriott and InterContinental properties, he has held further management positions with Continental and United airlines leading merchandising, eCommerce, and finally, Corporate Development and Strategy. He joined Air Canada in 2016 and was recently named Vice President, Loyalty and eCommerce. In this role, Mr. Nasr has responsibility for developing the vision and strategies for Air Canada's all-new, digital first loyalty program to be launched in 2020. He will also lead the design, development, implementation and maintenance of Air Canada's eCommerce systems to support Air Canada's global customer retention and revenue strategies. Mr. Nasr earned a degree in Hospitality Administration and minor in Information Systems from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration. He was named one of Crain's Business 20 in their 20's. He also holds a patent for check-in and ID scanning, a product used by approximately a dozen large airlines, as well as an patent application for airline seating systems.
