The beer industry has gone through a significant transformation in the last 20 years. With over 8,000 breweries in the U.S. and a wide range of styles, the industry is even more complicated. In this class, we will explore consumer purchasing trends in the beer industry, the ingredients, terminology, and the process of making beer. The class will also explore who are the faces and people behind some of the most popular beer brands in the U.S. and how they went from small business owners to large corporations. Also, the class will explore Cornell University’s impact on the beer industry.
