 At the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, you have comprehensive resources for advising. Advising teams include the Office of Student Services, Faculty Advising, and Career Advising. Our professional academic advisors help you choose coursework, complete degree audits, and transfer credits, among other items. Students needing academic accommodations can connect with the Academic Accommodations Manager to ensure their needs are met. Lastly, Career Advising provides career guidance including access to internships and posted jobs. We are also proud to host Executive Conversations where senior-level executives join Hotelies to advise and inspire both students and faculty.

Institutional, Academic, and Personal Matters: What to Expect from OSS Academic Advisors

  • Curriculum helps design imaginative and solid curricula to satisfy appropriate Nolan School degree requirements
  • Facilitation is knowledgeable about policies and processes for practice credit, transfer credit, petitions, curricular substitutions, Nolan School specializations, and other academic options
  • Listening provides a respectful and confidential space to ask questions and discuss interests and concerns
  • Connections advises generally about the links between academic work and career goals and makes referrals to university resources for academic support and overall health and well-being
  • Guidance advises on studying abroad, transferring internally between Cornell colleges, pursuing university minors, conducting research, and other activities
  • Advocacy supports students with disabilities
  • Resources is knowledgeable about voluntary, required, and health leaves of absence
