The Cornell University School of Hotel Administration has announced an expanded partnership with IDeaS Revenue Solutions to advance the practice of revenue management in the hospitality industry. This partnership builds upon a three-year collaboration through which the two industry leaders have offered scholarships for hospitality professionals to earn online certificates in revenue management.

"Amid an increased focus on total revenue performance, hoteliers worldwide are searching for ways to enhance their staff's knowledge and skills around revenue management," said Brian Sterrett, vice president of global sales and marketing, IDeaS. "By partnering with Cornell to drive programs like the scholarship program, we can further encourage the adoption, integration, and development of revenue management skills globally, including in emerging markets such as China, India, Brazil, and Eastern Europe."

Under the new agreement, IDeaS will fund an additional six scholarships for Revenue Management and Advanced Revenue Management online courses, bringing the total number of annual scholarships to twelve. The company will also be a platinum sponsor of the Cornell International Hospitality Summit China in 2013 and will sponsor the newly created Hospitality Research and Analytics in Practice Award, given bi-annually at the Cornell Hospitality Research Summit.

"Partnering with companies like IDeaS is critical to Cornell's success and that of our faculty because it allows us to interact very closely with the people who are at the forefront of pricing and revenue management within hospitality," said Steve Carvell, associate professor and associate dean for academic affairs, Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. "IDeaS' expertise will help us promote more sophisticated revenue management practices, and the synergies that have come out of the partnership, such as the expanded scholarship program, are already evident."
