The Center for Real Estate Finance (CREF) at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration announced that Atlantic|Pacific Companies (A|P) has joined the CREF Industry Fellows program. A|P has purchased, developed, leased, and managed residential and commercial properties throughout the United States since the mid-1970s.
"We're excited to welcome Atlantic|Pacific Companies to the Industry Fellows program, and President and CEO Howard Cohen will be a valuable addition to the center's advisory board," said Jan deRoos, HVS Professor of Hotel Finance and Real Estate and executive director of CREF.
Cohen, who will represent the company at meetings of the CREF Industry Fellows, oversees all A|P-affiliated companies, managing investments and creating strategic partnerships that further enhance the firm's systematic approach to delivering better results and a richer experience. He has more than 15 years of real estate investment, real estate law, and management experience.
"This is a fantastic partnership, and we are looking forward to working with CREF to increase real estate research and education. As an alumnus of the school, I am excited to work with students and faculty interested in investment real estate," said Cohen.
The CREF Industry Fellows program is the cornerstone of the center's outreach efforts. The program helps fund the annual Cornell Real Estate Case Competition, seminars on current industry topics, student travel to real estate investment conferences, as well as faculty research. The third meeting of the Industry Fellows was held in January during the Americas Lodging Investment Summit in San Diego.
