Hilton Worldwide is Title Sponsor of Third Cornell Icon & Innovator Awards Dinner

The Cornell University School of Hotel Administration has announced that Hilton Worldwide is the title sponsor of the third annual Cornell Icon & Innovator Awards Dinner, a gala that will honor the Hilton family and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation as the recipients of the 2011 Cornell Icon of the Industry Award. Christopher J. Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton Worldwide, will co-present the award with Michael D. Johnson, dean and E. M. Statler Professor of Hotel Administration, at the event on June 7, 2011, at the Waldorf=Astoria New York. A reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner and the awards ceremony at 7:30 p.m.

The Cornell School of Hotel Administration and Hilton have historic ties that date back more than a half century, when Conrad Hilton purchased the hotel company of E. M. Statler, one of the school's principal benefactors and also an industry icon. "We are very proud to continue to expand on our relationship with Hilton Worldwide," stated Johnson.

The Cornell Icon & Innovator Awards Dinner attracts the world's most influential hospitality leaders and raises funds for School of Hotel Administration scholarships and programs. The event began in 2009 and honored J. W. "Bill" Marriott, Jr. The 2010 dinner honored Charles "Chuck" Feeney.
