The Center for Real Estate Finance (CREF) at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration announced that HVS has joined the CREF Industry Fellows program. HVS is the world's leading consulting and services organization focused on the hotel, restaurant, shared ownership, gaming, and leisure industries. Stephen Rushmore, president and founder, will represent the company at meetings of the CREF Industry Fellows.

"Real estate research and education is critical to the work we do at HVS," said Rushmore. "As a CREF Industry Fellow, I look forward to finding innovative ways to help advance the mission of the center and increase knowledge about the hospitality real estate industry."

Rushmore directs the worldwide operation of HVS and is responsible for future office expansion and new product development. He has provided consultation services for more than 15,000 hotels throughout the world during his 40-year career. He earned a BS from the School of Hotel Administration and an MBA from the University of Buffalo.

"With 30 offices around the world, HVS has a truly global reach, and the company brings a unique international perspective to the Industry Fellows," said Jan deRoos, HVS Professor of Hotel Finance and Real Estate and executive director of CREF. "HVS's involvement with the school spans two decades. We are pleased to welcome HVS to CREF and build on an already strong relationship with the company."

The CREF Industry Fellows program is the cornerstone of the center's outreach efforts. The program helps fund the annual Cornell Real Estate Case Competition, seminars on current industry topics, student travel to real estate investment conferences, as well as faculty research. The third meeting of the Industry Fellows was held in January during the Americas Lodging Investment Summit in San Diego.
