Cornell Center for Hospitality Research Issues 2010 Annual Report

Ithaca, NY, January 12, 2011 – The Cornell Center for Hospitality Research (CHR) has issued its 2010 Annual Report, which chronicles the CHR's multi-faceted efforts to promote and share top-level research-based knowledge with the hospitality industry. The report, available from CHR at, lists the Center's many roundtables, webcasts, and publications, as well as its participation in numerous industry conferences.

"This was a busy year," said Professor Rohit Verma, CHR executive director. "We produced 19 reports, 6 webcasts, 5 roundtables, 4 issues of the Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, 3 Industry Perspectives, 2 Roundtable Perspectives, 2 tools, and one successful conference, the Cornell Hospitality Research Summit. But although we can talk about the year in numbers, the real story is the support we have had from our industry senior partners, partners, and friends, our research fellows and student researchers, and a host of other practitioners who are interested in improving the hospitality and related industries."

CHR's operating model is unmatched by any other academic institution. Thanks to the support of its 81 senior partners, partners, and friends, CHR is able to promote and distribute research studies that cover any and all aspects of the industry at no charge. Likewise, its corporate support extends to the industry roundtables and webcasts, as well as the Cornell Hospitality Research Summit. This first-ever thought leadership conference drew nearly 225 industry executives and academics from four continents to the Cornell campus for research presentations and discussions that focused on the industry's key issues.

The 2010 annual report also looks ahead to the 2011 webcasts and roundtables, which are already being planned. In addition, the School of Hotel Administration will host QUIS12, the twelfth biennial International Research Symposium on Service Excellence in Management, scheduled for June 2 – 5, 2011.

Thanks to the support of the CHR partners listed below, all publications posted on the center's website are available free of charge, at
