Entrepreneurs Caroline and David Perel to speak at Cornell School of Hotel Administration
Entrepreneurs Caroline and David Perel will be the featured speakers in the Conversations with Entrepreneurs series presented next Tuesday, September 14, by the Leland C. and Mary M. Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship at Cornell University. The Perels will present from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. in 198 Statler Hall. They will dine with selected students after the event and meet with students, staff, and faculty the following day.
Caroline and David are principals of Juno Development, a company they founded in 2006 to provide partners and clients with centralized expertise for the development of luxury hospitality and mixed-use real estate projects. Juno's primary differentiating factor is in its unique understanding of the dynamics of the hospitality industry and hotel development process.
Caroline is responsible for project management, design, and programming for all the company's developments. Prior to founding Juno, she developed boutique hotels for an independent real estate company and was subsequently vice president of business development for Gatehouse Capital. Before that, she started her own business specializing in asset development and revenue management. She also was a vice president of Travelclick's revenue management consulting practice and corporate director of strategic planning and revenue management at Fairmont Hotels. Caroline holds a BS from the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.
At Juno, David is responsible for project finance, legal, and capital markets. Before turning his focus to the real estate and hospitality industries seven years ago, David worked on Wall Street for ten years as managing director of investment banking for ABN Amro and in senior-level investment banking positions at Bear Stearns, Furman Selz, and ING Barings. David holds a graduate degree in finance from Kellogg Business School, an undergraduate degree in business from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Certified Public Accountant license in the state of New York.
The Conversations with Entrepreneurs series is sponsored by Hotelie Entrepreneurs, Cornell Hospitality Advisors, and eClips.
