"Thought Leadership" Conference Promotes Strategies for Industry Leadership

Ithaca, NY, June 7, 2010 – Registration is open and the summit agenda is posted for the Cornell Hospitality Research Summit (CHRS), the premier conference of the year, which will be held October 6 - 8, 2010, at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration. When you attend the CHRS, you will hear the latest from both leaders in the hospitality industry and hospitality researchers in well over 50 presentations. This is a critical moment for the hospitality industry, as we address the complex strategies of electronic media, face the challenges of economic recovery, and look for breakout strategies in all areas of hospitality management.

Produced by the Cornell Center for Hospitality Research (CHR),  this first ever "thought leadership" conference, looks to the industry's future with sessions on brand management, sustainability, social media, and customer loyalty. This forward-looking summit focuses on sharing the best ideas to address the most critical issues in the hospitality industry. According to CHR Executive Director Rohit Verma: "We will investigate social media, revenue management, and online travel agents. Plus, we'll look at profitability management, sustainability, brand management, and leadership issues for the hospitality industry, among others."

Presentation sessions will feature both academics and industry practitioners, from North America, Europe, and Asia. Here are just a few presentation examples: "Social Media in Hospitality: Trends and Tools," "Pushing the Frontiers of Sustainable Operations," "Contemporary Issues in Hotel Development," "What We Know about Restaurant Profitability Management," Building Your Online Brand," and "Social Media Analysis for Hospitality."
