Pizza innovator Miki Agrawal to speak in the Conversations with Entrepreneurs series

How did Miki Agrawal re-invent “the perfect food”? Come find out when she speaks in the Conversations with Entrepreneurs series Tuesday, November 3, from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. in 198 Statler Hall at Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration. Agrawal will dine with students after the event and meet with students, staff, and faculty the following day as part of the series presented by the school’s Leland C. and Mary M. Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship.

The “perfect food” is pizza. When Agrawal and her twin sister, Radha, launched Slice ( in 2005, they set out to create a line of pizzas distinctive in both flavor and fixings. Using fresh, all-natural and organic ingredients and innovative toppings, they have done just that. Slice has attracted a loyal lunch and dinner crowd at its eco-friendly setting on New York’s upper-east side, as well as a growing delivery and catering business.

Slice #2 is set to open in the heart of Greenwich Village in lower Manhattan in November 2009. This restaurant will boast a full beer and wine bar, a sidewalk café, and a larger menu with more offerings.

In a related entrepreneurial endeavor, the Agrawals have launched Build-Your-Own Pizza Kits (, which are being sold in local supermarkets. They aim to sell the kits nationwide. 

The Agrawals are both graduates of Cornell University, where they were starting players on the varsity soccer team.
