Timothy J. Dick Wins 2009 MMH Outstanding Alumnus Award from SHA
Timothy J. Dick is the winner of the 2009 MMH Outstanding Alumnus of the Year Award, presented by the Masters of Management in Hospitality (MMH) program at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration. A 1988 graduate of the program, Dick is senior vice president at TriMont Real Estate Advisors in Atlanta. He will be honored at the eighth annual MMH Reception in New York City, which will be held at the W New York on November 8 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
“We’re honored to recognize Tim with the MMH Outstanding Alumnus Award,” said Michael Johnson, Dean and E. M. Statler Professor at the School of Hotel Administration. “He exemplifies the passion, professionalism, and excellence that we’ve come to expect from the graduates of the program.”
The award committee selected Dick after evaluating MMH and MPS (Masters of Professional Studies) graduates on a range of criteria, including academic performance and school involvement as a student; career progression since graduation; and continued engagement with the school and its students, alumni, and faculty.
For more than 22 years, Dick, who is a Member of the Appraisal Institute, has conducted real estate consulting, valuation, asset management, and investment analysis on behalf of major financial institutions, government agencies, large corporations, developers, individual investors, and legal firms.
At TriMont Real Estate Advisors, Dick is responsible for the asset management of a portfolio of hospitality properties located throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and the Caribbean. The portfolio, which includes over 140 assets totaling over $3 billion in market value, is comprised of equity investments, performing loans, and real estate owned assets in primary and secondary markets.
Prior to joining TriMont in 2003, Dick was director of asset management at Hardin Capital LLC, and he was also a manager with the Global Hospitality and Leisure Consulting Group and the Real Estate Advisory Services Group of the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Atlanta office.
Dick is a member of the Counselors of Real Estate, the Hotel Asset Managers Association, and the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, and he has served on several industry conference panels.
Throughout his career, Dick has maintained a close connection to the School of Hotel Administration. He is a frequent guest lecturer at the school and is past president of the Cornell Hotel Society. Dick is also a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board.
