Cornell Compendium Presents Over Forty Research Studies

Summaries Explain Findings; Research Available for Download

Ithaca, NY, February 5, 2009 – Cornell's Center for Hospitality Research has issued the 2009 Cornell Hospitality Compendium, a two-year collection of research studies, hospitality tools, and white papers. Available for download at no charge, the 2009 compendium contains executive summaries of more than forty research studies issued by the center ( Studies are grouped by topic, making it easy for users to find research in their particular area.

“When users find a study of interest, they can download the entire study at no charge for the vast majority of articles,” noted David Sherwyn, academic director of the Center for Hospitality Research. “We want the compendium to be a useful document, so we have sorted our research studies into several topics, including finance, law, marketing, and restaurant and hotel operations. Our goal is to share information with the industry and other researchers.”

Most studies have been conducted by researchers at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. They have been joined in many cases by faculty of other colleges, including the University of Utah, National University of Singapore, and Michigan State University, as well as numerous industry practitioners, representing such firms as InterContinental Hotels, Proskauer Rose, and PhoCusWright.
