IDeaS Cornell Scholarship
The School of Hotel Administration, in conjunction with the IDeaS company, is proud to offer the IDeaS Cornell Revenue Management Scholarship Program. Since 2009, this first-of-its-kind program offers hospitality professionals around the world the opportunity to earn online certificates developed by senior Cornell faculty leaders—all tuition paid.
Each award includes paid registration to one of these online certificate programs:
Certificate in Advanced Hospitality Revenue Management: Pricing and Demand Strategies
Designed for the more experienced revenue professional, this program covers the most advanced approaches to strategic pricing, decision-making, inventory control, and demand manipulation, all with a focus on improving overall enterprise performance.
Certificate requires the successful completion of the following five courses:
- Price and Inventory Controls
- Price Sensitivity and Pricing Decisions
- Segmentation and Price Optimization
- Displacement and Negotiated Pricing
- Search Engines and Online Selling: Stimulating Incremental Demand

Certificate in Data Analytics 360
Designed to expand your analytical capabilities and take your strategic decision making to the next level. These courses will delve into more advanced techniques in prescriptive analytics including optimization and modeling.
Certificate requires the successful completion of the following five courses:
- Implementing Scientific Decision Making
- Modeling Uncertainty and Risk
- Optimization and Modeling Simultaneous Decisions
- Understanding and Visualizing Data
- Using Predictive Data Analysis

Certificate in Hotel Revenue Management
This five-course certificate developed by Dr. Sheryl Kimes, renowned revenue management expert and faculty member at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, provides a holistic view of the application of revenue management concepts and practices to the hospitality industry.
Certificate requires the successful completion of the following five courses:
- Forecasting and Availability Controls in Hotel Revenue Management
- Introduction to Hotel Revenue Management
- Non-Traditional Applications of Hotel Revenue Management
- Overbooking Practices in Hotel Revenue Management
- Pricing Strategy and Distribution Channels in Hotel Revenue Management

Applicant Eligibility
- Applicant must be employed in a full time position in the hospitality industry.
- Applicant’s employer must be engaged in the activity of providing lodging services; which include (but are not limited to) hotels, motels, clubs, resorts, casinos, and theme parks.
- Applicants for the Certificate in Data Analytics 360 must be directly responsible for the data analysis function within one of the following departments: revenue management/optimization, distribution, or strategy.
- Applicant must submit a completed application electronically or via mail by the deadline: March 12, 2021. Check back in October for the 2021 applications.
