Career Management

You have one of the best career management teams in the Ivy League, right here at the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration! If you are uncertain about what you want to do for a career or you know exactly what path to take, you should meet with one of our career professionals as early as possible.

We provide career exploration (through alum conversations, career “treks” to major cities to meet with employers/alums, inside information about many types of industries/careers), internship and job search strategy, interview prep, salary and job negotiations, resume and cover letter reviews and more. We are here to assist undergrads, Baker Real Estate, and MMH students. Schedule a meeting use the Online Appointment Scheduler Tool.

Some of the resources offered to our students:

Learn about LinkedIn, a professional resource used for networking, job and internship searches, and researching companies. We offer tips and links to guides on how to use this professional networking site and how to create an account.

Handshake is where students find internship and job opportunities. Log in, create a profile and view job and internship opportunities, register for events including employer information sessions and workshops, sign up for on-campus interviews, and view lists of companies attending career fairs. To be eligible to participate in on-campus recruiting activities, students must complete the On-Campus Recruiting Tutorial.

Students utilizing the services of Career Management and Cornell Career Services are expected to abide by Cornell Career Services Job Search and Offer Acceptance Guidelines and Policies for Students. Interview cancellation guidelines are included in the policy and are viewable in the On-Campus Recruiting Tutorial.

In addition to the career management resources available to you in the Cornell Nolan School, Cornell Career Services, located in 103 Barnes Hall, provides services to all Cornell University students.
